BEST WAY TO ORGANISE WARDROBES & CLOSETS
The most difficult
thing in everyone’s life is to keep our wardrobes and closets organized. A lot
of us struggle to keep everything in one single closet due to space constraint
and it becomes a challenge to keep it organized and functional on everyday
basis. As we have to get ready everyday
in a hurry, so our wardrobe can easily get messed up very quickly. If you learn how to easily organize your
wardrobe then it would save so much of your time and energy on a day to day
basis.
The organization of
your wardrobe will differ slightly based on the space you have, the size of
your wardrobe, and the kind of life you lead. However, these universal steps
can be applied to any closet and any wardrobe. So here we go:-
1.
TAKE
EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR CLOSET
The first step to
organize your closet is to pull everything out of it. Take every single bit of
clothing out and clean your closet properly. Pull all of your clothes from your
wardrobe and lay them out on your bed, this will make it much less hard work as
you won’t have to bend over onto the floor all the time. You want to see your
space empty so that you can then be able to reimagine it because you see things
differently when you have the space clear and clean. It will help you to design
your ideal closet in your mind.
2.
PURGE
(GET RID OF USED & OUTDATED ITEMS)
The most important part
of any wardrobe organization is to purge your clothing. We all know we have to
do it but 99% we fail to do so. The only way to tackle your messy wardrobe is
to discard old or torn clothes. You have to get rid of used and outdated items
that you no longer want to use. This step will do half of your organization
work.
3.
CATEGORIZATION
OF CLOTHES
Another important step
is to categorize your clothes to organize your wardrobe to make it more
functional. Instead of hanging your clothing wherever you can, organize your
closet into sections. Hang a certain type of clothing in each section. You will
be able to locate the clothing you need much more quickly and your closet will
look much neater. Sections can include: formal wear, work-wear, home-wear,
workout-clothes, Indian attires, party dresses, season wise-clothing, etc. You
can put labels over each section as labeling can even help you better to find
things out in a hurry. Therefore, you should always categorize you clothing before
putting them into your wardrobe.
4.
INVEST
IN ORGANIZATIONAL TOOLS
To make your closet
look more tidy and clean, you should consider purchasing organizational tools
for your wardrobe like investing in coordinating hangers is a must for every
wardrobe. Hangers can easily help you decide what you want to wear today.
You
can also purchase different types and sizes basket to put up clothes that
cannot be hanged and always need to be folded properly and stored. Containers,
hooks, racks, and dividers are important tools which help you organize your
closet. For example, you can use small, clear containers like these transparent
pockets to store and stack shoes. Since you can see through the containers, you
won’t forget about the shoes you store. You can use drawer dividers to put your
innerwear. Shelf dividers can separate folded scarves, purses, or small
handbags. Purchase small adhesive hooks and attach them to your closet wall or
door. Use these hooks to store scarves, belts, or jewelry.
You should put
jewelry with full care as it my get tangles if not taken organized properly. These
items can be used to attractively display your clothing and accessories while
making them easy to access.
5.
DO
SEASONAL CHECK-INS WITH YOUR CLOSET
Maintaining your
wardrobe is as important as organizing it for the first time. You should do
seasonal check-ins with you closet to make sure it is organized the way you
did. If anything has been changed or mixed-up, you can put that in the right
place. If more often you maintain your closet, then it will take less time of
yours. Therefore, do consider doing it time to time for having a clean and
