From vet appointments to feed and grooming we spend quite a bit on our pets, so why not save on the electricity bill. Here are some tips as to how you can save your electricity bill with a pet.

1. NO Need of Fan

If you leave your fan on for your pet when you are not home is an unnecessary expense. Pets do not sweat as humans do and they don’t quite feel the wind from the fan due to their thick coat of fur. So switching on fan for them dies no good for them or to your pocket.

 

2.Leave the Lights Off

Pets generally rely on natural light and darkness for their internal schedule not at all on artificiallight. So there is no need to illuminate your room for their convenience as they are least bothered about it. Ones thing you could use to curb your expense on lights is motion sensors which also tracks your pets motion.

 

3.Energy efficient entrance. 

Your doggy door may be efficient and favoured by your pet, but not very much by your purse. With often opening and closing, it sucks out the cool air produced by your air conditioner making huge holes in your pocket. So replace it with a one that has properties to keep air in or upgrade the current one.

 

4.Don’t Entertain with Technology

If you are worried about your pet feeling lonely and bored and keeps your TV on for some entertainment, you are committing a massive blunder. TV screen and audio players will confuse tour dig and keep it active preventing proper napping. Providing it with toys to entertain itself will be more healthy for you pert and your purse.


5.Aquarium Check up 

Fishes are a great school of pets. Begging by asking some questions about your aquarium, which is always running, and can consume a lot of energy. Aquariums with LED lighting or no lighting and aquarium pumps with low power consumption should be considered. Make sure to place your aquarium where it is not subject to big temperature swing away from door, Windows or appliances that creates constant temperature fluctuations. While cleaning the aquarium only remove half or one third of the water rather than emptying the whole tank, this ensures less wastage.

 

6. Fabric in Cold Water

It is super important to create a hygienic environment for your pets and hence washing their fabrics is necessary. However, make it a point to utilise cold water for washing pet fabrics, rather than hot water. Cold water cleanses the fabric equally as hit water dies and removes 90% of germs. So no need to waste money of water heater anymore.

 

7. Turn Off the Tap

Some pets get fussy when it’s bath time while some other get so excited. Though you have a puppy that loves his bath time and enjoys playing in a stream, splashing water on you, it may not be as enjoyable to you financially. Instead of running the water tap, keep sufficient quantity of water ready for you pet. This will ensure less damage and shorter bills.
